Psalm 16:11

11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

God's path for our lives is a journey filled with purpose, guidance, and abundance. As our Creator, God has a unique plan and design for each one of us. He knows the deepest desires of our hearts and the potential we possess. In His infinite wisdom, God leads us on a path that aligns with His perfect will. Though the path may not always be clear or easy, we can trust that God is with us every step of the way. He provides divine guidance through His Word, the Holy Spirit, and the counsel of other believers. God's path is filled with growth, transformation, and opportunities for us to bring glory to His name. When we surrender our lives to Him and trust in His plan, we can rest assured that His path will lead us to an abundant life overflowing with love, joy, and purpose.

His path for us is also a journey filled with both challenges and blessings. It is a path that requires trust, faith, and surrender as we navigate through the trials and tribulations of life. Crossing over signifies a pivotal moment in this journey, where we leave behind our old ways, fears, and doubts to step into the greater calling that God has for us. The word for Hebrews, or Israelites, is synonymous with the plural word ivrim in the Hebrew which means “to cross over”. It is a moment of transformation and renewal for each of us to bravely step into the unknown, as did the Old Testament Israelites, knowing that God is leading the way. Crossing over requires courage, as we may face uncertainties and obstacles along the way. Yet, we can be confident that God's path will always lead us to a place of purpose, fulfillment, and abundant life. As we cross over, we experience God's guiding hand and His unwavering presence, reminding us that He is with us every step of the way.

Crossing over is a significant theme in the Bible, carrying with it a deeper meaning of God's purpose and plan. From the Israelites crossing the Red Sea to Jesus crossing over into the realm of death and conquering it, these crossings symbolize freedom, redemption, and divine intervention. God's purpose for crossing over is multi-faceted. It involves leaving behind bondage, worldly limitations, and fear, and stepping into a new territory of abundant life, spiritual growth, and greater intimacy with Him. Crossing over, whether it refers to the threshold between life and death or the transition from one phase to another, brings to mind the profound concept of an eternal perspective. In this temporal world, we often find ourselves consumed by the cares, challenges, and achievements of the present moment. Yet, the idea of crossing over reminds us that our earthly experience is just a small fragment of our eternal journey. It challenges us to widen our view, shift our focus from the temporary to the eternal, and consider how our actions and choices in this life affect our eternal state. Embracing an eternal perspective prompts us to prioritize love, kindness, forgiveness, and grace, recognizing that our journey extends far beyond the confines of this world. Through the lens of crossing over, we are reminded of the importance of seeking truth, living with intention, and investing in the eternal, lasting aspects of life.

Prayerful Thought: ”Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life” John 5:24

“Sometimes life can feel like licking honey off a thorn, however, as with most things in life, there are no shortcuts for any place worth going !”
