an eternal peace

Ecclesistes 3:11 ……

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Faith is an integral aspect of the human experience. It has the power to shape our perspectives, guide our actions, and provide a sense of hope in the face of adversity. Moreover, faith holds the promise of eternity, transcending the boundaries of time and offering believers a profound sense of purpose and meaning. When we speak of faith, we are referring to the deep confidence and trust that individuals place in something beyond themselves. For many, this is rooted in a belief in a higher power or a Divine being. It is the assurance that there is a greater plan at work and that our lives have significance beyond the present moment. Yet, faith also points us to something beyond this present existence, beyond the constraints of time and space. We see this in the beginning of Psalms 103:17 The lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting….” It guides us toward a belief in eternity. Eternity is the concept that our lives extend beyond our time on Earth and that there is a continuation of consciousness beyond death. It is the understanding that our actions in this life have consequences that extend far beyond the temporal realm.

The conviction of eternity offers believers a sense of accountability and purpose. It reminds us that our time on Earth is also a fleeting moment in the grand scheme of things, and encourages us to live with intentionality and seek the greater good. It prompts us to consider not only our individual salvation but also the impact we have on the world and the legacy we leave behind. Eternity also provides believers with a deep sense of comfort and hope. It assures us that death is not the end, but rather a transition into a new and everlasting existence. Consequently, faith and eternity are intertwined, with each complementing and strengthening the other. Faith sustains us in our journey through life, anchoring us in the assurance of a higher power. And eternity offers us a perspective that extends far beyond our temporal experiences. Faith becomes the gateway to embracing eternity. Embarking on the journey of faith, individuals establish a relationship with God, the Creator of eternity itself.

Prayerful Thought: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” Psalm 90:12. “Make your time count as opposed to counting time, so that today does not become the tomorrow we worried about yesterday !”
